Team History
StormBots were started in 2008 with just 9 students all of whom were boys. Today we have over 60 students, 52% of whom identify as female. Our team is also quite diverse in terms of gender, ethnicity, and disabilities.
2020 - 2021
This year the Covid Pandemic caused all team events to be held virtually. FIRST offered three virtual challenges in Game Design, Innovation, and Infinite Recharge at Home.
2021-2022
We attended one competition. Our robot received the Industrial Design award and we finished in 8th place overall. Our first girls have joined the team!
2022-2023
We attended two competitions for the first time finishing 36th and 18th, respectively. Our team is growing and more girls have joined!
2017 - 2018
The team was ranked 13th. We were the District Event Winner for the Sundome District event and the Lake Oswego District event. A total of six awards were received. This was the first year that we went to Worlds and we ranked 63rd
2018 - 2019
The team was ranked 97th. In addition to this, we won the Excellence in Engineering Award. For the second year in a row, we went to Worlds and were subdivision finalists.
2019 - 2020
We were awarded the Entrepreneurship, Safety, and Industrial design awards. In addition to this, the StormBots was ranked 5th. Unfortunately, the season was cut short due to COVID after only attending 2 competitions.
2014 - 2015
We ranked 101 and won the Entrepreneurship Award at our third competition.
2015 - 2016
We entered two events and we were a District Event Winner. for the first time! The team won the Industrial Safety Award and Quality Award twice.
2016 - 2017
We ranked 101 and won the Entrepreneurship Award at our third competition.
2011 - 2012
In the second competition, we won the Entrepreneurship Award. Additionally, we ranked 12th.
2012 - 2013
Ranked 19th and received both the Industrial Safety Award and the Spirit Award.
2013 - 2014
This was the first year we competed in four competitions. With a total of 107 points, we were ranked 42nd in the Pacific Northwest District.
2008 - 2009
Our first year! The team was made up of nine boys. We entered one competition and placed 17th out of 54 teams.
2009 - 2010
We attended one competition. Our robot received the Industrial Design award and we finished in 8th place overall. Our first girls have joined the team!
